Dr. Magash Naidoo: Project Manager.
Dr Naidoo has been with the Municipality for 11 years. Before joining the EO in 2012, he was part of the Procurement and Infrastructure Special Projects team. Amongst his qualifications, he has a PGDip in Management and Leadership and has graduated with a Master of Commerce from the Graduate School of Business and Leadership at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. Dr Naidoo's Doctorate of Business analysed the eThekwini green economy, utilising a Complex Adaptive Systems and Agent-based Computational Economics underpinning.

Itumeleng Masenya: Manager: Climate Change.
Itumeleng has a National Diploma in Chemical Engineering from Peninsula Technikon and a B-Tech Chemical Engineering (Environ) from UNISA. She also possesses a Project Management Diploma from Damelin. Itumeleng started her career as a process controller in the Petrochemical Industry and then moved into consulting in the Water and Wastewater Sector. Prior to joining the Energy Office she worked for Sedibeng District Municipality (Gauteng) where she was responsible for the implementation of Climate Change Mitigation interventions.  

Sbu Nthshalintshali: Manager: Renewable Energy.
Sbu was previously employed by The Dow Chemical Company as Process Technologist, responsible for troubleshooting and optimising chemical plant operations, and implementing the Six Sigma approach to the manufacturing plant including reviews on plant utility energy management. He’s currently working as Manager (Renewable Energy), responsible for designing and implementing strategic approaches to renewable energy management, creating relevant energy policies, management of key stakeholder groups and facilitating the implementation of renewable energy programs suitable to the eThekwini Municipality. He holds a BTech Degree in Chemical Engineering from Mangosuthu University of Technology, Post Graduate Diploma in Project Management from MANCOSA Graduate School of Business, and has obtained his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Southern Queensland, Australia.

Sindile Buthelezi: Energy Efficiency Manager.
Sindile is currently the Energy Efficiency Manager at the eThekwini Municipal Energy Office. She spent five years working as a Project Engineer for Igoda Projects and two years as a Senior Professional Technician for the eThekwini Municipal Architecture Department. She holds a National Diplona in Electrical Engineering from Mangosuthu University of Technology (MUT), Bachelor of Technology Degree in Electrical Engineering and National Diploma in Project Management from the Durban University of Technology (DUT). She is a registered Professional Engineer and a member of the following professional bodies: Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) and South African Institute of Electrical Engineers (SAIEE).
 
Linda Somazembe: Climate Change Monitoring and Reporting Advisor.
Linda joined the EO in January 2014, Before joining the Municipality she was with the South African Weather Service (SAWS) working as a Scientist in the Climate Service Department. She holds a BSC in Applied Mathematics and Chemistry and a BSc Hons in Chemistry from the University of Fort Hare.
 

Adelard Karuhariwe: Project Officer: Energy Efficiency.
Adelard has been with the EO since April 2012. His job tasks include the development and implementation of energy efficiency projects in the eThekwini Municipality. In addition, he conducts research and assesses how the eThekwini Municipality compares with other cities in South Africa in implementing energy efficiency projects. Adelard has graduated with BSocSc in Geography and Environmental Management from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. He enjoys being part of a successful and productive team.

Refiloe Ntoi: Project Office: Renewable Energy
Refiloe joined the Energy Office in May 2019 as a Project Officer within the renewable section. She has acquired a Master of Science from Durban-Westville University, a Master of Philosophy in HIV and AIDS Management from Stellenbosch University, a Master of Commerce in Leadership from University of KwaZulu-Natal, an Honours in Geography from Rhodes University, a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration from the Graduate School of Business from the University of Cape Town, a Postgraduate Diploma in HIV and AIDS Management from Stellenbosch University, a Postgraduate Degree in Sustainable Development from Stellenbosch University and a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Durban-Westville. She has previously worked as a senior environmental technician, an environmental scientist, a tutor, a moderator, a lecturer and a researcher. She
also serves in an Environmental Health Professionals Board of the Health Professions Council of South Africa. Her role is to represent communities and stakeholders with respect to environmental health matters.

Nondumiso Mthembu: Project Officer.
Nondumiso joined the Energy Office in January 2015 as a Project Officer. She has completed a Public Administration and Supply Chain Management Degree at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. Her passion and love of project management developed at Oteo Commercial Services, where she was employed as a Project Consultant. Nondumiso is excited about her new scope of work and cannot imagine being anywhere better at this stage in her career.

Priscilla Moodley: Publicist. 
Priscilla has been with the EO since 2009 and is responsible for the marketing and communication around the City's Energy Strategy. She publicises all energy saving, demand management, use of renewable energy technologies and envoronmental awareness around these initiatives as employed by the City, its customers and other relevant parties. Establish and maintain a continuous awareness of energy usage and drive the 10% energy saving campaign. 
 
Lungile Mthethwa: Principal Clerk.
Lungile has been with the EO since June 2013. Her main focus is administrative and research support to the EO. She holds a ND in Marketing from the Mangosuthu University of Technology.
