CityManager_SiphoNzuza.jpg ​New City Manager, Sipho Nzuza took a firm grip on the reigns of the eThekwini Municipality from May 2017. He was formally welcomed at the Executive Committee meeting held at the City Hall on 11 May 2017.

Nzuza, who is no stranger to eThekwini Municipality, served as an independent Chairperson of the Audit Committee, during whose tenure, the City achieved a clean audit. He has occupied several senior management positions at various companies ranging from banks to auditing firms. Before he joined the Municipality, he was the esteemed Port Manager for Transnet in Cape Town. Nzuza also serves as director on a number of Boards. He brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience that he will use to position Durban as one of the top five most liveable and modern cities in the world. 
Nzuza plans to use his capacity to drive the city’s growth and development plans by expediting service delivery and development, especially in rural areas which comprises 67% of the eThekwini region. Increasing tourism and investment promotion while capitalising on Durban being a port City is also a top priority for Nzuza as is attaining a clean audit outcome.

Nzuza has attained a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) and a Higher Diploma in Taxation from the University of Durban Westville, in addition to a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from UNISA, majoring in Accounting, Auditing and Economics.​ ​
